3 Most Used Lip Products | Collab

most used lip products

As much as I rave and rant about different lip products, the true test and best value for money, are your most used lip products. The ones that are always in your handbag, that one you accidentally left in your car that melted and your heart broke, and that one that went through the wash and you accidentally lost it for 3 months.

This post is a collaboration with some of my local fellow beauty bloggers. Meet Amy from Noise in Wonderland and Tegan from Permanent Procrastination. Just like wine, talk of top lip products is best with friends, so make sure you check out their posts here and here, respectively (because they are sharing their favourite lip products too!).

Most Used Lip Products

I’m going to go through all three most used lip products and share why I’ve ended up using them the most!

Natio Lip Shine in Rose Bud – RRP $14.95

most used lip products

  • Very comfortable formula
  • More sheer than my other lipsticks so quick and easy to apply (usually applied quickly using my car mirror before I rush to go class/ a meeting/work)
  • Suits my skin tone (I’ve received compliments when only wearing this lipstick and no other makeup!)
  • Encouraging words on packaging! With the ‘makeup junkie’ label, and having the connotation of not liking the way I look without makeup (not true!), it’s nice to see makeup encouraging loving yourself
  • There is also another shade in the range which is perfect for fairer skinned girls
  • Realising that small price tag is like finding a local cafe that makes nice tasting Chai tea/lattes, unlike most that make it taste like actual dirt (not joking)
  • Negs: Limited Edition, so go buy it now! Most chemists have it in the bargain bin, but can still buy online via. David Jones.

MAC Prep and Prime Lip – RRP $33

most used lip products

  • I use this so darn regularly to moisturise my lips before applying lipstick!
  • Nice waxy formula, compared to other lip balms, providing the perfect base for applying lip products, whilst still keeping your lips moisturised (scrub your lips, then apply this product, and BAM almost any lip product will apply better)
  • This is my second one (saving my used up one for back2MAC)
  • Negs: Be careful when applying under some liquid lipsticks, like the Rimmel Provocalips, because it tends to mess with the formula and result in a crumbly mess (this may have happened at one of my engagement parties, GAH. Also, not divorced, just had two parties to accommodate our friends in  two very far apart areas of NSW).

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Damned – RRP $39.00

most used lip products

  • The formula is so flipping amazing. Very comfortable and wears evenly.
  • The opaqueness is more on the sheerer side, but builds up to intense colour if desired. This is great because it gives you some options when applying this product
  • Long lasting
  • Negs: Burns my soul to sharpen it cause it feels like you’re wasting product and the price tag causes my asian brain to migraine if I think about it too long.

Would love to know your what your most used lip products are. Share in the comments!

That NARS pencil is a gorgeous shade! Totally appropriate for winter. Had to laugh at the negatives of it though. I’m considering getting one of their pencils one day – I tried one in Mecca once & liked it.

I’m still making my way through all my Bite Beauty lipsticks & lip tints. I’ve NEARLY finished Rose and I’m getting closer to finishing the 2 lip tints I own of theirs. The sad thing is when I finish Rose I’ll have to hunt for it if I want it, it’s been discontinued. :o(

Damned is such a beautiful shade and product! I bought it last autumn and it’s sooo gooood! I don’t wear any lip colour products for long enough to say that they’re the most used. The only most used lip products are my lip balms which are currently Baby lips and Carmex lol.

I’ve never tried Hourglass lippies! Once Mecca Maxima finally opens up in my town later this year, I’ll have to go swatch crazy.

Some lovely lip products there Mel – I wear something different every day (I bore SO easily lol), but I do love the MNY crayons, great for all over the lips as well as lining xxx

I’ve been so keen to try Twig!! But whenever I go to MAC I just get overwhelmed and end up buying something else, LOL

The NARS pencils are so good right! One of those expensive products that actually seems worth the money. The formula is amazing. I want to collect more but such $$$$$. The Natio one is so cute right!

I am a Nars junkie and I love their matte velvet pencils. Dragon Blood and Bleu Train are my favourite. In my Lipmonthly bag I received a couple of Mirabella pencils in different occasions. I swear. They are the same as the Nars pencils. Same texture, same pencil. Don’t know if you know them? Might just be a US brand. I also like the Nars Audacious lipsticks, with Grace my fave red and Barbara my favourite nude.
Ah. So many lipsticks and not enough days in the week to wear them~!

    Great post Mel x

      Hey Barbe,

I have heard of Mirabella, but I am so sceptical! I have one lipstick from them, and its fine. But I guess cause I don’t hear much about it I just assume the brand is bad! Are they cheaper than the NARS ones? If so, I’mma need some of that!

And I’m so keen to try the NARS Audacious Lipsticks, but need to wait till Mecca comes to my city (coming later this year!!).

I rotate mine so much it’s kind of hard to say. But since I have an Annabelle light pink gloss in the front zipper of my purse, it gets thrown on whenever my lip product has worn off. It’s pretty sheer and goes with any look.

Gorgeous post! Love how your choices are so different to mine although I would love to have all of these in my collection. My most used would probably be Kate Moss nude 45, Maybelline Mat7 and The Balm Committed x

I’ll have to try the Balm one you suggested. Have never tried lip products from them! I love the formula of the Kate Moss Nudes, but none of them are the right shade for me sadly!
