Beauty Heaven Beautorium Haul!

beautorium

I have been a long term member of Beauty Heaven, long before I started blogging. I’m even a platinum member :P. Admittedly, they are no longer my blogging website of choice, since I found it frustrating that most of their posts are sponsored. I understand that bloggers need to do sponsored posts to survive, but I felt I wasn’t getting 100% honest reviews on products. They do however have a great product review system where all members can contribute, and a pretty amazing member rewards system.

Beauty Heaven has a point based system (points are earned through commenting on blogs and reviewing products and so on) and the points can be ‘spent’ at certain times of year to ‘buy’ products. You are essentially getting free products, only needing to pay shipping. I did participate in the first ever Beautorium and it was ridiculous good. I got so much stuff. Like probably around $400 worth. Since that one, they significantly increased the ‘points’ necessary to buy each product, which is why I haven’t participated since then. I decided to finally bite the bullet and participate this time around.

Makeup

My first order was makeup. I’d been keen to try out the Maybelline ColorBlurs, so I used this opportunity to pick one up! The Designer Brands Contour Kit in Medium to Dark also looked interesting. I’m always on the hunt for ‘drugstore’ products for deeper skinniness that actually work, so looking forward to trying it out.

Skincare

beautoriumMy second order was for skincare. I have used the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel in the past, and was wanting to purchase a new tub anyway! I actually have reviewed it here. I’d also heard good things about the Dermal Lip Balm and have been keen to try lip balms that have SPF in them.

Free Samples

So, I put in two orders, paid for two different shipping costs and ended up with two packages with two sets of samples. Hence all the double ups! I’m very pleased with the outcome. I essentially paid $20 for this entire haul, and was things I would buy anyway. What a win. I already use the Garnier Micellar Water, and am keen to try the other samples.
