As Rumpelstiltskin once said, “Magic always comes with a price.” The same goes for makeup, but not just the price you pay for purchase. Makeup wearers everywhere are burdened daily with many first world problems. I’ve compiled a list so we can come together and support one another. Let us unite.
Getting lipstick on your straws, glasses, mugs, cutlery when eating or drinking
Trying out a new black eyeliner or mascara that ends up smudging like cray cray (and you don’t realise till the end of the day #pandalife).
People will always ask you if you’re sick when you have a no makeup day.
Applying makeup inside/indoors and catching a glance of your reflection outside to see a clown face staring back at you.
The struggle of removing waterproof mascara at the end of the day.
That weird face you make while putting on eyemakeup #judged.
Never being able to draw even eyeliner wings
Getting foundation on people’s clothes when you hug them (to tell, or not to tell?)
Getting lipstick on your teeth
A tea drinker’s nightmare is moisturising lipstick; it transfers like my money does out of my bank account (aka. more lipstick on mug than lips).
Having too many mascaras open at once
The struggle of brush washing day (and forgetting to do your makeup before washing all of your makeup brushes)
Having to choose which (slightly different) shade of red lipstick to wear out of your unneccessarily large collection.
When bits of your hair gets stuck in your lipgloss
