Here we are again, one month sure flies. I am most certainly glad I gave myself a whole year for this Pan that Palette challenge, I’ve barely made a dent (sad face). If you have no idea what the Pan that Palette challenge is, check out my first post where I explain all the things here. Since it is only the second month in, my hopes have not been completely exterminated though. Like what the first man on the moon said, we must take life one small step at a time… or something like that.
Let’s take a look at the differences in the palette between last month and this month:
There is a little bit of a dent in the gold shade (woohoo), but no pan to be seen (sigh). Not going to lie, I’ve been trying to use the eyeshadow for the gold one in the same place every day, not wastefully, but slowly trying to dig a little hole to the pan-a-licious goodness. My main struggle is that the only shades I feel comfortable wearing on a daily basis are the gold and maroon coloured ones, and sometimes the matte black. The gold is a great every all-over-the-lid shade, and goes great with berry lips. I like to use the maroon shade in my crease, and I blend it out. But, like, how on earth am I meant to pull off the blue shade? Maybe if I was a character from the movie Avatar.
So, before comparing the two photos, I was certain I’d used this pencil more. Time to get on it this month then! The eyeliner is okay, since it’s only small I should be able to use it up in a couple months, but I prefer cream eye shadows over pencil.
If my eyes don’t deceive me, it looks like I’ve used pretty much none of the lipgloss at all! Lies! I’ve used it twice! Both times were equally as awful. Yes, shame on my for not using this product more, #soznotsoz. The lipgloss is some what more bearable when used over a lipstick, but I’m still pretty anti.
Sadly the blush looks like I haven’t used it all at, but I swear I have! This actually isn’t a bad blush, but I just have others I prefer.
This palette has actually surprised me, in terms of eye shadow. Since I’ve been forced to use it, I’ve realised the eye shadows are pretty good quality. The eye shadows don’t crease, blend beautifully (easier than some of the more expensive eye shadows I have!) and last a reasonable amount of time. So much better than some of my cheaper eye shadow palettes.
The other products in the palette are okay, but not super amazing. One of the biggest things I’m learning is how long it takes to use up makeup (spoiler alert: a long time).
I will continue to update monthly, below are some of the tips I’ve learnt so far.
Pan that Palette Challenge Tips:
- Try to use it at least 5 out of 7 days a week
- Focus on one or two shades at a time so you see results quicker
- Don’t be disheartened if it looks like you’ve made no progress after one month
I’d love to hear any of your tips for finishing this challenge.
Good luck beauties 🙂
