We’ve all struggled with gift buying, especially for the men in our life. It can be so hard to find a unique gift that is still nice and practical. I was super stoked to be asked by JORD Wood Watches to review a wood watch of theirs! The most unique, yet stunning watch I’ve seen, enjoy some beautiful photos and my thoughts.
I was gifted a wood watch from the Cora Series, the Koa & Rose Gold option priced at $275 US which is roughly $367 AUD. Smokes, it’s a bit of an expensive one. However the quality is certainly stunning. The watch arrived in this pretty, but unnecessarily large (compared to the watch size) wooden box. The box is quite fancy with like a hidden draw below which currently contains the dehumidifier packet thingo it came with.
You can choose for the watch to come pre-sized (which is great) and they just leave the extra links in the box (incase your wrists get fatter?). Mine was still a bit large on me, but I had a watch-obsessed friend decrease the band size for me. You can buy very cheap tools online to resize the band yourself. It is an automatic watch, as long as you where it at least 8 hours a day. I forget to wear it on days I don’t work, so it doesn’t end up being the right time at least once a week, whoops! I hear you can buy a special watch case for automatic watches that will spin them around when you’re not wearing it so it will keep time.
This JORD Wood Watch’s best feature is definitely the transparent back where you can see the intricate workings of your watch! It’s so cool watching everything move around in there, ticking along.
I think this could make a great gift. At almost four-hungie-wowzahs it is out of my price range. However, later on if I know a family member is very keen on Wood Watches, this would be my pick! The quality is honestly great, leagues above anything you’d find at Kmart/Typo/Target.
