FIRST IMPRESSION: Laura Geller Brighten ‘n’ Balance Foundation

I was lucky enough to win a Lab Muffin giveaway on Instagram. The prize included two Laura Geller products, a primer and the Brighten ‘n’ Balance Foundation in Deep. At first glance, this product looks a lot more like a bronzer or blush. When I turn the packaging over, I was shocked to see it’s actually a foundation! The weirdest one I’ve ever seen. Safe to say it was like opening a KFC Bucket and finding a Boost Juice in there.

I decided to give this foundation a good road test, with check ins through out the day. It is such a pretty product, so I was really excited to see if it actually works.

This was my first every First Impressions video, what did you think? Would love to know if I should do more or not.

What are your favourite Laura Geller products? Please let me know in the comments!

I won this product from the blogger Lab Muffin, so I did not pay anything for it. This is my honest opinion and there are NO affiliate links in this post.

This product looked pretty in the container but I buy my makeup for how it looks on my skin rather than in the package so I wouldn’t buy this either, especially not for $40.. It’s too sheer for someone as old as me!

LOL Ingrid. Shame it doesn’t turn out that great! I think the Hourglass powder are not only pretty in pan but on the face too.

Seems great if you’re into a super-sheer look, but yeah a bit exxy. How cute is your bunny jumping around in the background! ?

It’d probably be a good bronzer for a lighter skin tone!

Definitely more of these please hon – love seeing your smile! Hmm yes the foundation is not for me – like Ingrid, I need COVERAGE and I need it big time. Having said that I have a Laura Geller blush and it’s fabulous – all pretty and swirly like the foundation, and the berry colour is gorgeous xxx

Thanks so much Kat. I’ll definitely need to try a blush sometime!

I love how your rabbit is just chillin’ on your bed lol. It’s such a sheer coverage product! You have lovely skin and it did add a little more ‘glow’ to it overall. Maybe it’ll be nice as an over the top powder after foundation? Not that you need it!!

Aw, thanks Kat for the feedback. And I thought you all would enjoy seeing my bunny, as much as I enjoy seeing her!

It looks beautiful!! But I like more of a medium coverage so for $40 it doesn’t seem like it’s worth it :/

    Your rabbit is sooo cute!!

I’ve never tried that powder, it is very natural looking on you. My favourite bronzer of life is Laura Gellar Bronze and Brighten. Although I haven’t repurchased in a few years because I now have an abundance of other bronzers to try out thanks to all the recommendations on the internet! LOL

I ordered the Baked Balance-n-Brighten in golden medium. I did not find much of a difference between the golden medium and the medium. Still like the product. This is the best powder foundation I’ve used. I use it over my liquid if I’m going out or just use it over primer if I’m running errands and want a nice light coverage for the day. I’ve been using it for years and recommend it to all my friends ! The different pigments allow me to use it during the summer or winter.

Glad to hear you like it! I’ll have to try it over my liquid foundation.
