Review: O.P.I Hello Kitty Nail Polish

I was lucky enough to be gifted a set of three nail polishes from O.P.I’s Hello Kitty collection! Whilst I’m not a super-fan of Hello Kitty, I do enjoy a bit of Hello Kitty goodness in my life. I received the O.P.I Sparkle & Shine Trio Pk which retails for $39.95 at David Jones. It includes three nails polishes, a small sheet of Swarovski Hello Kitty crystals in the shape of  Hello Kitty’s face, as well as an adhesive for them.

The most important trait of good nail polish for me is lasting power, so that is what I will focus on in my review. I wasn’t a fan of the pink polish in this collection, so I gifted it to a friend.

Put to the Test

Day 1: Shiny and oh so pretty! Love this shade.

Day 5: Still looking pretty fab, but small cracks have appeared on a couple of the nails.

Day 7: Them cracks are getting more obvious. A couple small chips too.

Day 11: Finally time to say goodbye to this nail polish. Too chipped for me to wear, so I removed them.

Overall, very impressed with the lasting power! A whole seven days went, and my nails still looked really good (from a distance). The small cracks the started appearing were a bit weird, but as you can tell from the photos, they’re only visible extremely close up.

Would I recommend?

If you’re a fan of Hello Kitty, I would definitely recommend these polishes. O.P.I is a good quality nail polish brand, and is easily available in Australia. If you’re not particularly doe-eyed by Hello Kitty, there’s nothing special about these polishes, so I’d give them a miss. I personally wouldn’t buy these myself.

Likes: Great lasting power. Cute design. O.P.I is a good quality brand.

Dislikes: $49.95 is pretty pricey for three polishes, especially considering I wouldn’t use those rhinestones included in the kit.

Any Hello Kitty or O.P.I fans out there? Let me know in the comments.

I’m not a fan but I do think Hello Kitty is cute. 7 days wear out of regular nail polish would be impressive for me! I love the shade you’re wearing.

I’m not a Hello Kitty fan, but I did buy a couple of other shades from this collection (Spoken From The Heart & My Pal Joey) purely based on reviews that I’d read + I couldn’t resist the colours. I haven’t tried them on my nails yet, but I know OPI polishes in general are quite good, if pricey.

Always good to know that OPI is good quality. There definitely were some gorgeous shades in the collection.

Hiya Mel! I have a fabulous Hello Kitty eye shadow – the best teal in my kit actually ♥ Such a cute pack, and that deeper pink is a beauty – would make a lovely gift for my polish loving friends xxx

I actually ended up giving away the pink because I wasn’t a fan haha. Thanks for stopping by Kat 🙂

LOL, it doesn’t always look that good. But I do know OPI is a good quality brand

It looks like a lovely colour. I think it lasted pretty well. I hardly get that long out of shellac sometimes haha

50 bucks is pricey for 3! I do get sucked into packaging though!!!

That colour looks so good on your complexion! Too bad they chip and crack too quickly!
